SMS allows you to stay connected without talking.  You can send and receive text messages to and from any DigiCell number, SMART number or International cell number.  You can now also send SMS to any e-mail address around the world.

SMS to E-MAIL
This service allows you to send a text message to any valid email address around the world. 
Sending an SMS to any e-mail address:

1. Go to new text message
2. Enter e-mail address e.g. james@yahoo.com
3. Press 'space' key
4. Type Message
5. Send to 610-MAIL (610-6245)

Note:

1. The 160 characters include E-mail address and message
2. E-mail customers will not be able to reply or send an e-mail to DigiCell customers.
3. Save 610-MAIL in your cell phone’s address book for easy access.

International SMS
With International SMS, you can now send and receive messages to and from cell numbers around the world.  You can send to over 300 GSM, CDMA, or TDMA operators around the world.  Click here for details on countries.
Sending an International SMS:

1. Go to new text message
2. Type message
3. Send to international mobile number. Enter the number just as you would when using IDD e.g. 00-1-310-341-8562

TIPS TO ENHANCE YOUR TEXTING EXPERIENCE
You can send messages using iTap, T9 input and SMS shortcuts. It is a fast, easy and discreet way to personally exchange information and keep in touch.  You can send and receive messages that include up to 160 letters, numbers and characters.  Some phones also allow you to send built in graphics and sounds.  An indicator will be displayed on your cell phone once you receive an SMS. The form of this indicator will vary according to the type of cell phone you have.
With iTap and T9 you can type faster and easier on your GSM cellular phone.  Rather than pressing the key until your letter appears, you just press the button for your letter once.  E.g. if you need the word “work”, then simply type 9675 and “work” will appear as one of the options.  iTap and T9 predicts what you want to say as you type.  It is pre-loaded with thousands of words, emoticons and punctuations.
