Do I have to visit the BTL office to get DATA on my phone?

Once you are a DigiCell PrePaid customer and have a data capable device, you do not need to come into the office to get the service.

 

What is the APN used to get internet on my phone?

How can I check my Data speed?

Download your favorite speed test app such as Speedtest and test the speeds there.

 

 

What device frequencies are compatible?

The following device settings are compatible:

 

It works on Band 2 and 17 for 4GLTE Advanced 

It works on 850 MHz for HSPA+ 21Mbps and HSDPA for 4G 

It works on 850 MHz and 1900 MHz for DigiCell Voice and GRPS/Edge

 

If I don’t see 4G/LTE/3G/Edge/H+ displayed on my phone what should I do?

Purchase a Data plan. 4G/LTE/3G/Edge/H+ is only displayed on your device if you have an active data plan. 

What speed should I get with my Data?

The actual download/upload speeds will dependent on:

 

  • Device specifications (device requirements, compatible speeds)
  • Number of users simultaneously connected to the network via a particular cell site.
  • Proximity to cell site (meaning where you land within the coverage area) and movement
  • URL (web page) being accessed

 

 

What happens if I don’t consume the allotted data allowance on my plan within the validity period?

Your Data plan will expire, however the purchase of another plan will allow you to have Data access once again. 

 

How will I know when I have reached my data allowance?

You will receive text notification at 50%, and 100% when your data is consumed.

 

Can I use my data allowance between several devices?

Yes, data allowances can be shared with multiple devices, for example, a handset, tablet and laptop. In order to do this, you can simply place a PrePaid SIM in the device. To use on your laptop, you will need to purchase a dongle.

 

What uses the most data on my devices?

Some device activities can consume large amounts of data:

    • Streaming audio or video using apps such as Netflix and YouTube
    • Using social media or websites with lots of pictures/updates such as Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat 
    • HD Video Calling
    • Downloading music/MP3s
    • Using your device as a Mobile Hotspot and allowing other devices to access the internet from it
    • Location-based apps like Maps or MapQuest
